e-Prescribing Incentives from Medicare

The Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) provides that Medicare will pay premiums to eligible professionals who are successful ePerscribers. Payments will begin in 2009 and end in 2013. As of 2015, Medicare will penalize non-participants.

 

Medicare will pay premiums on ePercription submisstions as follows:

 

2009 - 2.0% 2012 - 1.0%
2010 - 2.0% 2013 - 0.5%
2011 - 1.5% 2014 - 0%
